Imperial Porter

Brewed with a carfeully crafted malt bill comprised of seven different varieites of malted barley, this robust dark ale has a silky mouthfeel with notes of roasted malt, dark cacao and coffee. The addition of 400 pounds of in-house hand-toast- ed coconut lend a delightful and distinct tropical aroma that carries into the flavor. Cascade hops are used to temper the sweetness and lend a spicy yet subdued complexity.

A super-charged version of our Imperial Porter. Aged in Kentucky bourbon barrels for over a year, this new beer delivers a smooth combination of rich chocolate flavours from our Imperial porter, married with vanilla and warming alcohol from the barrels. Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Smoked Porter is brewed with a carefully crafted blend of smoked and other malts, and hopped with Saaz before gracefully aging in bourbon barrels with Madagascar vanilla beans. Bourbon Barrel Vanilla Smoked Porter pours a deep brown, almost black, with a thick tan had that quickly dissipates. Rich notes of cocoa, vanilla, and subtle hints of oak and coconut follow the prominent aroma of bourbon. Vanilla flavor leads followed by bourbon and dark chocolate. The smooth mouthfeel and surprisingly light body lead to a finish that is moderately dry, with subdued notes of lingering roast.

A hoppy king of porters packed with scary amounts of juicy hops. American 2 row and 4 different specialty malts create roast and caramel flavors backed by floral and citrus notes from intense hopping in the kettle. A Courageous dry hop of Centennial hops provide fierce flavor and aroma. Justice and peace shall come when the Lion awakens….

This creamy and crazy ale takes our Burnt Fog Smoked Porter recipe, drops the smoked malt and adds peanut butter, chocolate and lactose sugar. The combination produced a creamy peanut butter cup of a beer fitting of a celebration and capable of easing the winter doldrums. Nukin’ Futz was brewed for our 3rd anniversary on New Year’s Eve but will continue as an occasional release.

The elusive chile beer. It’s a style I’ve been wanting to try for years, literally, and I’m glad I finally got one with Mikkeller Chipotle Porter. The color is spot on but there isn’t much head. A lot of roasted notes and smoke in the aroma. The flavor is like you’d expect. A velvety smooth smoked porter with chile heat at the end. It’s a late heat that really lingers. I’d put the heat on a level close to a mild jalapeno.Certainly not overpowering. And, since it’s a porter, if you search for some bittersweet chocolate, you’ll find it. The smoke comes out more as it warms.

This is an Imperial version of our Baltic Oatmeal Milk Porter. This beer is Cold fermented in order to allow the malts to shine. You can expect to taste sweet notes of chocolate and coffee with a slight hint of alcohol on the finish.

This sophisticated ale was made with Cacao nibs, malted milk and French Polynesian vanilla beans and aged for nine months in Woodford Reserve bourbon barrels.

Oso. A robust English Porter fermented in the traditional open top tank. A process that allows the yeast to fully express it’s character by developing sweet fruity esters. We then aged the beer in rye whiskey barrels for several months adding warm vanilla and caramel note

Kona Coffee, Macadamia Nut, Coconut Porter

Winter’s stark landscape calls for big, rich, flavorful beers. The subtly sweet and velvety mouthfeel of our Señorita Imperial Horchata Spiced Porter, made with cinnamon and vanilla bean, pours a deep dark brown with a snow white head. Aromas of vanilla, cinnamon, and sweet milk hit the nose, bringing up images of the delicious Mexican drink this beer is styled after. It hits the palate with sweet chocolate malts, vanilla and a hint of cinnamon with a medium body and balancing hop bitterness. Enjoy this beer after a long day of skiing with amigos and amigas!

Created in 18th century London, porters were some of the first mass-produced and consumed beers of the industrial revolution. Porter evolved from a blend of brown and darker beers that were precursors to stouts. Tradition has it that these beers were favored by porters and other physical laborers. Ten Ninety Imperial Porter is fiery elegance. Our porter is brewed with ample Munich, mild brown and de-bittered black malts for a chocolaty, espresso base. To contrast this bittersweet backbone, we added an ample dose of cayenne pepper, and tempered this heat with tart pomegranate juice.

Imperial Pumpkin Porter is a new version of 2014 fan favorite Pumpkin Porter. With a higher ABV (8.5%), it embodies the same smooth, robust pumpkin flavor and slightly smoky aftertaste with the inclusion of Alaskan’s signature alder-smoked malts.

Imperial Porter first aged in bourbon maple barrels, then in marsala wine barrels. NOTE: this is not the same beer as 'Imperial Biscotti Break Double Maple Barrel-Aged'

Smooth peanut butter meets dark coffee in this roasty porter. This Peanut Butter Victory at Sea is a nutty version of our popular imperial porter. We took our trademark robust porter brewed with Caffè Calabria coffee and vanilla and added peanut butter, adding another level to this roasty, flavorful beer.

Black Maple was a beer we brewed on the fly. An open brew day was reason enough to go big and bold. We put our heads together and crafted an imperial porter with deep nutty notes, a touch of smoked malt, a melange of crystal malts, and a rich chocolate backbone. Locally harvested maple syrup from Sticky Pete’s was added to the kettle. The whole batch was then placed into bourbon barrels wehre it rested for 10 months. This beer was consistently some of our favorite barrels to sample, we hope you enjoy!

We brew Death Wobble Imperial Porter big and add generous amounts of oats, roasted barley, chocolate malt and locally roasted coffee from Traction Coffee Roasters. Enjoy!
