A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with pilsner malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. It is a Helles Doppelbock.

A classic German double bock beer. Spaten Optimator is a bottom fermented dark beer "doppel bock" with a deep dark color and a rich roasted malt flavor.

Brewed from dark malt barley also known as “Munich malt” is where the bier’s dark, chestnut color comes from. Salvator has a mild, sweet aroma of chocolate and imparts a distinctively bold, robust flavor.

Brewed in granite troughs, heated to white hot this beer has a caramel and roasted flavor. Also, a unique smoke flavor.

Doppelbock Lager

Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Brewed for a Fat Tuesday release, Consecrator is a traditional doppelbock fermented with our house lager yeast. Reddish brown in color, this lager is full bodied and well-balanced. Hints of caramel and molasses can be found in its smooth, malty finish.

The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

This limited batch of Doppel Bock was aged in hand-selected Kentucky bourbon barrels. The brewers allowed the beer to hibernate until it was time to uncage the beastly blend of flavors including vanilla, coconut, hints of bourbon, chocolate, toffee, and the signature, velvet smooth finish of the Doppel. Best enjoyed after dark.

A Silver Medal Winner the 2018 World Beer Cup®, Winterbock is a dark, strong German-style doppelbock. Its rich malt flavors of chocolate and coffee come from double decoction mashing with 100% imported German Munich and Pilsner malts. The bold malt character is balanced by mild bitterness from 100% imported German Perle hops grown in Bavaria’s famous Hallertau Valley hop-growing region. Winterbock’s clean, satisfyingly smooth finish comes from six weeks of cold lagering with pure lager yeast from Andechs, a Bavarian monastery brewery.

This world famous bock from Bavaria’s Holy Mountain is not meant to be rushed, but savoured slowly. As solid as a rock, Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel presides over the evening meal with a colour reminiscent of dark copper with nuances of fiery red. Its clear gleaming look harmonises with its firm, fine pored head. Also the aroma delights the connoisseur: soft roasted accents and a nuance of dried fruit carrying a vein of caramel. This Doppelbock Dunkel from Bavaria’s Holy Mountain presents a pleasant effervescence. And then there’s the unmistakable flavour: mouthcoating and velvety, strong and yet pleasantly malty – a powerful, robust body. At the same time, it develops an easily recognisable sweetness, embraced in roasted cocoa and a light, bitter hoppiness. Concluding with a powerful punch, this Doppelbock departs with a lingering aftertaste of quality plain chocolate. A strong Doppelbock that embodies the centuries old Benedictine brewing tradition, sip by delicious sip.

Orange-gold. Smell is of rich full caramel malt and well straw. The taste is of fruity esters in a rich caramel brew. Alcohol flavor is not prevalent despite 12% ABV.

This is a true dopplebock and Dark Horse Brewing’s only publicly distributed lager. It was so normal that we couldn’t stand it so we made it into a coffee dopplebock. Ha, take that Germany, with your Reinheitsgebot purity law! Anyway, we use fare trade organic coffee from our friends at The Ugly Mug Cafe in Ypsilanti, MI
