A creature of the swamp, Andygator is a unique high gravity brew made with pilsner malt, German lager yeast, and German Perle hops. Unlike other high gravity brews, Andygator is fermented to a dry finish with a slightly sweet flavor and subtle fruit aroma. It is a Helles Doppelbock.

A classic German double bock beer. Spaten Optimator is a bottom fermented dark beer "doppel bock" with a deep dark color and a rich roasted malt flavor.

Brewed from dark malt barley also known as “Munich malt” is where the bier’s dark, chestnut color comes from. Salvator has a mild, sweet aroma of chocolate and imparts a distinctively bold, robust flavor.

We are saluting our beginnings with a special doppelbock version of the Brooklyn Lager we introduced in 1988. This beer is re-fermented in the bottle and will taste great today or years from now. The original was inspired by the beers of 19th Century New York and Vienna.

This Doppelbock, or "Double Bock", is a dark, extra full bodied lager after the best Bavarian tradition. Such beer was created by monks for the tough fasting period of Lent. They called it "liquid bread". Look for flavor notes of chocolate, candied fruit and roasted malt.

This beer is one of our rare steps away from tradition, and toward creation. Arc Welder is a mash-up of the dark beer from Munich known as Dunkel lager, and a rye-based beer originally brewed in Bavaria called Roggenbier. We started with a dark lager recipe, and then replaced 26% of the base malt with rye malt. The goal was to showcase the soft sweetness of toasted malt with the dry spice of rye malt. The result is a perfectly autumnal beer that celebrates both styles while absolutely identifying as Metro.

Extremely rich and malty German-style lager, so intense it's named after our founder! Karminator Dopplebock has a traditional double-bock flavor, brewed with an over-abundance of the absolute highest quality imported Munich malt to create an irresistible toasted barley flavor, with hints of caramel & toffee. A lot of care, time, and know-how has gone into creating this complex, memorable, and majestic lager.

A beer that has a dominant malty taste. This beer’s origins in a monk’s recipe are reflected in its heartiness. The Pope of Beers, Conrad Seidl, describes it as: “Almost black with a very slight red tone, a sensational, festive foam and truly extraordinary fragrance that at first summons up visions of greaves lard. The first taste is of mild fullness with an accompanying coffee tone, which becomes more dominant with the aftertaste. There is very little of the sweetness that is frequently to be tasted with doppelbock beer.” The Ayinger Celebrator has been ranked among the best beers of the world by the Chicago Testing Institute several times and has won numerous platinum medals.

Brewed in granite troughs, heated to white hot this beer has a caramel and roasted flavor. Also, a unique smoke flavor.

Doppelbock Lager

Celebrator has a creamy head of tight bubbles contrasting beautifully with its profound dark robe. It is full-bodied and velvety from half a year’s aging. Although it is strong, it is not overpowering. There is a wonderful and complex balance between the various malts, the alcohol and the subtle hops. A complex fruitiness of roasted malt and whole hop flowers make Celebrator great as a party drink with friends and family at celebrations. Despite its richness, it has a faintly smoky dryness in the finish.

Brewed for a Fat Tuesday release, Consecrator is a traditional doppelbock fermented with our house lager yeast. Reddish brown in color, this lager is full bodied and well-balanced. Hints of caramel and molasses can be found in its smooth, malty finish.

The once strongest beer in the world is back ! Brewed only once a year on December 6. Samichlaus is aged for 10 months before bottling. This beer is perhaps the rarest in the world. Samichlaus may be aged for many years to come. Older vintages become more complex with a creamy warming finish. Serve with hardy robust dishes and desserts, particulary with chocolates, or as an after dinner drink by itself. Brewed under the exclusive licence of Feldschlösschen-Hürlimann-Holding, Switzerland.

This limited batch of Doppel Bock was aged in hand-selected Kentucky bourbon barrels. The brewers allowed the beer to hibernate until it was time to uncage the beastly blend of flavors including vanilla, coconut, hints of bourbon, chocolate, toffee, and the signature, velvet smooth finish of the Doppel. Best enjoyed after dark.

Its rich malt flavors of chocolate and coffee come from double decoction mashing with 100% imported German Munich and Pilsner malts. The bold malt character is balanced by mild bitterness from 100% imported German Perle hops grown in Bavaria’s famous Hallertau Valley hop-growing region. Winterbock’s clean, satisfyingly smooth finish comes from six weeks of cold lagering with pure lager yeast from Andechs, a Bavarian monastery brewery.
