Choice Pils is brewed in the tradition of classic German pilsners with our own dangerous twists. We use fine German malts and pure Lake Superior water for a great start, and finish with Saaz and Cascade hops for a floral, citrusy, and spicy zing. We chose to blend a classic European style with American craft brewing ingenuity. Here’s to making good choices.
Originally brewed as our Second Anniversary beer in 2013. It was so good, we keep it coming back each spring. We put an amazing amount of hops into this beer, over 4lbs per barrel! It has a lot of tropical fruit, citrus & apricot going on in both flavor & aroma. Despite the crazy amount of hops, it is a very well balanced double India Pale Ale.
Mosaic Fresh Hop IPA is brewed with fresh Mosaic hops, picked fresh off the vine and immediately shipped to the brewery and put into the beer. Hops grow in a way to protect the Lupulin glands, which produce the hop flavors we love. Hops are traditionally pelletized which lock in the majority of oils for long term storage but removes some of the delicate flavors they can offer. Fresh hopped beers are a way for brewers to use hops in their purest form. Enjoy this farm fresh beer in fall just weeks after the hop harvest.
White pines were once a staple in the landscape of the North Shore. Our White Pine Project IPA is a beer with a purpose – to help reinstate the white pine population in our back yard. Proceeds from this beer will go directly to planting targeted areas along the North Shore that will stand for future generations to enjoy. This IPA flaunts a robust aroma of bright citrus, tropical fruit, and pine, with just enough bitterness. The mellow golden malt character and effervescence carry these towering hop flavors as high as a stately white pine.
Ode IPA is a culmination of our love of hops and the many variations of India Pale Ales we have brewed through the years. This beer shows how we like to use hops where flavor and aroma are at the forefront, ending with medium bitterness. Citra, Azacca, Amarillo and Centennial hops lend bright citrus and tropical fruit in flavor and aroma. It is an Ode to all the great IPAs already out there, a true marriage of hops and love. Something new, something borrowed, something Ode. FIND OUR BEER
This beer is brewed in honor of our brewer and founder’s great-great grandfather. George Hunter was an Irish immigrant from Belfast who owned and operated the Iron Range Brewing Co. in Tower, MN during the late 1800’s up until Prohibition. George Hunter Stout is an American version of the style with aromas of molasses, licorice, maple, coffee and cream that are also echoed in the flavor. Just like the hearty Irishman that he was, George Hunter Stout is a big, roasty, full-bodied brew that will stand up to the cold winters of Minnesota.
17-7 is named after our address in downtown Two Harbors, which is also home to our taproom that overlooks Lake Superior. 17-7 was born out of necessity while brewing on our original 93-gallon system in Castle Danger. We love hops and IPAs, but brewing an India Pale Ale takes several extra days for adding more hops so we created our pale ale recipe to keep up with demand. 17-7 is a hop-forward pale ale brewed with our own 7 hop variety and has enough of a biscuit-malt backbone to keep it honest.
A hoppy red ale brewed when the fall air starts setting in. It is red hued like the sun rising on Lake Superior. Red Hop is a malty, rich, full-bodied ale balanced by Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops. This beer is a crowd pleaser, enjoyed by malt lovers and hop aficionados alike. A brew that was designed for the changing colors of fall, so enjoy it with your favorite fall past times!
