Our Main Squeeze Grapefruit Ale has a wheat backbone just like our Aprikat Apricot Ale. We use fresh ruby red grapefruits in every batch we brew. The natural citrus notes of the grapefruit are complemented by Cascade hops, both for bittering and for dry-hopping. We squeeze our fresh grapefruits in-house! We use the juice at the end of the mash, and throw grapefruit rinds in at the end of the boil. One batch uses about 75 grapefruits!! MMM so fresh. Cheers to you and your Main Squeeze!
We can’t promise inner peace, but our Full Moon Pale Ale definitely has a zen-like balance of smooth body and light carbonation. Our original Pale Ale recipe features a perfect balance of citrus and piney hops with a caramel malt finish and is dry hopped with Centennial and Cascade for good measure. We’ve come up with a beer that, not only delights the palate, but leaves it wanting more. Full Moon isn’t a palate wrecker, it’s a palate pleaser. Carefully crafted to have a bright and full hop flavour, while not overpowering the subtle malty notes that provide a solid backbone for this well balanced, sessionable Pale Ale.
The newest addition to our core line-up celebrates Alley Kat nearing our anticipated 25th anniversary; we reeled in inspiration from our vintage fish bone logo as the perfect homage to our humble history! This cloudy unfiltered IPA is our take on a New England India Pale Ale. We brew this beer with a blend of classic American hops and new-age tropical hops to produce an East meets West NEIPA. With strong aromas of tangerine, citrus, and pine, this catch of the day will make you feel like you’re in the tropics all year 'round!
Natural raspberry puree gives this wheat beer the perfect sweet and sour raspberry flavour and aroma. The original recipe for RazzyKat is older than Alley Kat itself, and we’ve been around furr-ever! So what better way to celebrate our 25th anniversary than by bringing back this fan favourite raspberry sour.
When Alley Kat opened in 1995, Aprikat was the first apricot ale in Alberta, and one of the first fruit beers in the province, making it the perfect invitation to get anyone hooked on craft! One of Alberta’s favourite craft beers, Aprikat, is based on a North American style wheat ale. Our award winning brilliantly clear wheat ale stands out with its orchard fresh aroma and mouthwatering taste of apricots. We add a natural apricot extract to produce a perfect, not-too-sweet flavour and aroma backed with a slight graininess from the wheat ale base. No one forgets their first!
Originally brewed as a cream ale, Scona Gold took a hiatus from our line-up before being re-introduced in 2014 as a traditionally brewed Kölsch style ale. Kölsch is a German style, which is sometimes referred to as the lager of ales and our Scona Gold is no exception! Voted Canada’s best craft beer of the year in 2015, Scona Gold Kölsch is a delightfully crisp and refreshing beer. This golden ale is sure to please; even the most die-hard lager drinkers will enjoy this treasure. Go for the gold, a Scona Gold.
Inspired by the countless amazing views in Alberta, we named our Brown Ale, Buena Vista! Our brown ale recipe has not changed. It is still a hearty, London-style brown ale, traditionally hopped with US Goldings hops. It serves as a refreshing all-purpose beer for those who enjoy dark ales. The major thing to note for Buena Vista Brown Ale is the emphasis on the malt. That doesn’t mean we don’t use any hops though. We brew Buena Vista with Goldings to add a light floral hoppy note to the taste.
