#1. Silk & Spice Red Blend

Silk-&-Spice-Red-Blend
Silk & Spice represents the exceptional flavors made possible by Portugal’s diverse terroir, indigenous Portuguese grapes, and the exotic spices and aromas discovered on the ‘Silk and Spice’ routes to the far east in the 1500’s. This is a red blend of deep, rich layers, characterized by aromas of ripe red fruit with hints of vanilla, mocha and spices. The label illustrates a reinterpretation of an original XV century map from the Age of Discovery. It details the Bay of Bengal, the Portuguese coat of arms and a historic caravel of the time, all symbolizing the bravery of the maritime explorers who journeyed into the unknown and shared with the world spices like nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper, and fabrics like silk. This is a wine #meanttobediscovered.

Warrior is the oldest mark of Port in the world, having been shipped continuously since the 1750’s. The name Warrior was branded on the casks of Warre’s finest Reserve Ports since the earliest days of the firm. The traditional style has been maintained over the years and it is today a classic full bodied wine with wonderful richness and balance. Warrior is drawn from Warre’s finest quintas in the Pinhão and Rio Torto valleys that produce Warre’s Vintage Ports. The firm’s head winemaker, Charles Symington, will select vats of particularly rich and fruity Port to set aside for maturing in oak casks in the lodges at Vila Nova de Gaia.

Taylor-Fladgate-Fine-Ruby-Porto
Taylor’s Fine Ruby a blend of full bodied Port wines aged for around two years in large oak vats in Taylor’s cellars, or ‘lodges’, in Vila Nova de Gaia. As they age, they gain smoothness and elegance while retaining their fruitiness, intensity and youthful ruby colour. They are then blended together for balance and consistency. With its firm tannins and concentrated fruitiness, Fine Ruby is perfect for the classic port-and-cheese combination. It is particularly good with blue-veined and richly flavoured soft cheeses. It also pairs well with berry fruit and dark chocolate flavours and, like all red Ports, makes an excellent after dinner drink.

Graham’s-Tawny-Port-10-Year
"10 Years" indicates and average age – this Aged Tawny Port is a blend of older wines, which offer complexity and younger wines, which bring fresh fruit flavors and vibrancy. During their long maturing period in oak casks, Aged Tawnies undergo subtle color changes: the deep red hue which characterizes Port's youth gradually gives way to a paler reddish amber color. Graham's is known for its rich, elegant house style. This 10 Year has a full, nutty bouquet, the classic Graham's richness and a soft lingering finish.

Grahams-Six-Grapes-Porto
Graham's Six Grapes Port has always been the quintessential port, the one that people start with and the one they keep going back to. When I first tasted it I was astonished to find such a deliciously sweet yet balanced wine with so much concentration. As the years went on and I became more familiar with the port category I have grown to appreciate all the styles from vintage to tawny and colheita, but I keep coming back to Six Grapes. It offers pure hedonistic pleasure and there are times when wine doesn't need to command 100% of the attention in the room. Six Grapes is never flashy, trying to grab too much attention but it's a wonderful demure and comforting companion in any setting.

Porto Ferreira Ruby has an intense and well defined ruby hue, showing the quality of the selected wines. Its intense aroma is reminiscent of very ripe fruit, fine-tuned through its careful ageing in wood as well as through the blending carried out during its natural ageing process. Full-bodied and rich, it has a fine balance between its sweetness and its tannin structure, giving it unique characteristics and a fine and attractive long finish.
