The terroir of Mount Ventoux is evident in 3 Messes Basses, which is a refreshingly dry and crisp rosé – no cloying sweetness here. The minerality of the soil comes through in a piquant acidity, and the grapes express themselves on the palate in a kicky burst of kiwi, citrus, and underlying red fruits and berries. It’s a sort of evolved fruit salad– pure, fresh, and lively. Terrifically drinkable, with a lovely deep pink body and intoxicating (pardon the pun) bouquet, it’s excellent for picnics and pairs well with crunchy salads, olives, ripe cheeses, and cured meats. Yum!
