Since 1780, the Stadlmann family has been producing classic wines made from indigineous grapes of Austria's Thermenregion. Today, Johann Stadlmann VII continues this tradition by creating expressive and dynamic wines. He gained additional experiences from winegrowing estates in Alsace, Germany, and Alto Adige, Italy and is one of the region's key wine-personalities. The family's estate is located in Thermonregion, 20 minutes south of Vienna. Their two main varietals are indigenous to Thermenregion: Zierfandler (from which they make their hallmark wine) and Rotgipfler. These varietals date back to days of the Hapsburg Empire and were the Emperor's favorite wines. Ripe red-berry aromas. A soft, medium body with some fine herbal spices and steely minerality. Mild, ripe tannins enhance the elegant finish.
