The initial aromas coming from the glass are quite reserved and polished. Decidedly ripe and forward with fresh and ripe cherries, red plums, and currants. There is a soft influence of earth that is marked by dust, rock, and licorice root. The oak influence is present, but well integrated and detailing with wine with a generous, but polished touch of cinnamon, vanilla, and toast. The palate is balanced and pretty with ripe fruits that make a dramatic impression and then finish dry and clean on the finish.
