Pol Roger only produces their Vintage Brut Rosé in the finest vintage years in very limited quantities. The grapes are from 20 Premier and Grand Crus in the Montagne de Reims and Côte des Blancs of champagne. The champagne is aged at least 7 years in the cellar before disgorgement, over twice the legal requirement, which leads to a complex, sensual, and rich champagne that can be enjoyed now or kept in the cellar for years to come. From the Winemaker: A deep salmon pink color with a fine stream of small bubbles. The nose has aromas of ripe fruits with elements of citrus fruits (blood orange), pomegranate and small wild red berries. On the palate, a deep mineral character fine, creamy ripeness, and a hint of vanilla. The wine is tender and smooth with a balance of delicate freshness and refined elegance. A discreet vinosity with a clean and precise finish. About the Brand: Founded in 1849, Pol Roger is one of only a few Grande Marque Champagne houses that remains family owned and operated. Having among the deepest (100 feet below ground) and coolest (48°F) cellars in Champagne provide perfect conditions for the “prise de mousse” (the development of the Champagne in bottle and the “finesse” of the “bead” or bubble) and for the long-ageing of the Champagne in bottle. All their Champagnes are aged longer than the legal requirement to add more complexity and fine bubbles in every bottle. Critical Acclaim: 2012: 94 points Wine Spectator, 93 points Wine Enthusiast, 94+ points Wine Advocate, 93 points Decanter "Wafting from the glass with a lovely bouquet of plums, red berries, blood orange and toasted brioche. On the palate, it's full-bodied, muscular and vinous, with terrific depth and structure at the core, its ripe but racy acids balanced by considerable texture and concentration. While this remains youthfully tight-knit, I'm inclined to think I was very conservative regarding its ultimate potential." William Kelley, Wine Advocate, 94+ points
