Harvested from estate owned vineyards and from our long-standing growers within the Niagara Peninsula. Aged for 12 months in 60% American and 40% French oak barrels with full malolactic fermentation.
A black garnet colour with an amazing bouquet of black currant, leather, black cherry, black olive, smoke, sweet oak and vanilla. Full-bodied and firm with rich, ripe black fruit flavours accented by notes of tea leaves and cocoa powder. Spiced blackberry, dark chocolate and cherry notes linger on the extra-dry finish.
Fabulous with grilled medium rare red meats; beef tenderloin with roasted garlic mashed potatoes; roasted root vegetables; Avonlea Clothbound Cheddar from PEI; lamb chops; prime rib.
