The Journey Red blend red wine is stunning and elegant, and offers a plethora of intriguing aromas of fresh boysenberry, blueberry jam, huckleberry, dark roasted coffee and cedar box with light hints of dry tarragon and tobacco leaves. On the palate, roasted coffee evolves into a powdered chocolate truffle followed by a silky, textured finish with impeccable acidity. This Sonoma Country appellation wine was aged for 663 days in 45% new French oak. For the past four decades, Matanzas Creek Winery has focused on creating site-expressive wines. Throughout the years our methodology has remained the same: utilize a range of vineyard clones and fermentation vessels, and explore new farming and winemaking techniques, to produce thoughtfully crafted, expressive, and balanced wines. Today, all Matanzas Creek Winery estate vineyards are sustainably farmed and are certified under the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance.
