Mercurey is the largest wine-producing area in the Côte Chalonnaise. The vineyard of Clos la Marche is located on the Domaine la Marche, in the center of the village, facing south/east. The composition of the soil is very similar to the Côte de Beaune: mix of clay, limestone and marl. The vines are from 15 to 80 years old. This famous vineyard is a monopole of Louis Max.
Bright ruby red in colour. Intense note of red fruits (raspberry, cherry) and hints of spice, autumn leaves and liquorice. Full bodied with a generous taste, round tannins and fine terroir aromas. The finish is long and harmonious.
