Somewhere between a trend and a classic, Series ’68 is a stand-out. Timeless, yet in the moment. Five decades of winemaking have shown us that classics never cut corners when it comes to quality.
The nose brims with aromas of black plum, cherry jam and mocha. Full-bodied, the palate delivers flavors of raspberry and black cherry, with threads of freshly turned earth, raspberries, cocoa, clove, dark chocolate and anise. This is an approachable, balanced red wine with smooth tannins and a juicy finish.
Following harvest in early fall, each grape variety was fermented separately to allow its full varietal character to develop before blending. After a warm fermentation in stainless steel tanks, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation to enhance its texture and mouthfeel. This blend was aged with a mix of French and American oak for eight months to create greater depth and complexity in the glass.
