Domaine Philippe Colin Bourgogne Rouge

From the Domaine of Philippe Colin here is his Pinot Noir red Burgundy. It's the most basic wine that a Cote D'Or producer will turn out but it can be exceptional in the right hands. This one was singled out in the Wine Spectator article entitled "10 Enticing Red Burgundies, New reviews from the affordable Bourgogne Rouge appellation" They said "When ripe, a good Bourgogne delivers balance, subtle complexity, fresh red and black fruit flavors, and decent length. They are usually ready to enjoy on release, but, in the case of top domaines in strong vintages, can be capable of developing for five to seven years or longer." They gave it a score of 90 points and said "This plush red delivers flavors of black cherry and bilberry, with ample power and refined tannins. Accents of smoke, spice and mineral prevail, keeping the wine fresh and long. Not everyone's cup of tea, but impressive nonetheless. Best from 2015 through 2021."
