Its classical style expresses the character, nobility and concentration of the grapes which have had a long history in Chile. Prize-winners year by year, it has been ranked five times in the prestigious ranking of the Top 100 Wines of the Year, by Wine Spectator. Variety Chardonnay. Denomination of Origin (D.O.) Limarí, Limarí Valley. Origin Llanuras de Camarico Vineyard. Soil To the south of the Limarí River there are 60-70 cms. of earth with 30-35 percent of clay, followed by alluvial soils. The sub-soil is formed by a big amount of calcium carbonate, which adds a good acidity, freshness and mineral quality to the wine. Climate Coastal climate, cold due to its closeness to the Pacific Ocean (25-30 km. Away). The temperature variation is small (approximately 13 degrees [between 12-25 C°] in January). The Limarí area is specially known for receiving more sunlight than other valleys. This effect is smoothened by morning mists (called “camanchaca” in Chile), allowing the bunches to ripen slowly to an optimum point.
