In my household, plenty of white wine gets consumed in the winter (and red in summer!). There is something so refreshing and stimulating about the verve and precision on a clean, dry white that I crave it year round. This snappy little white Bordeaux is just the kind of number I'm referring to. A traditional blend of Sauvignon Blanc (60%) and Semillon (40%), this "basic model" from Bordeaux powerhouse Ducourt touches all the bases for an amazingly low outlay. Green grape tang and zippy, grassy notes set the base with an overlay of more ripe stone fruits. The Semillon adds a nice boost to the texture, and the crisp, dry finish makes for an easy transition from one sip to the next. This is a very pleasant beverage be it February or August. Salut!
