While the Chapuy family has owned land in Champagne for centuries, they've only begun making wine about 100 years ago. By the 1950s, Chapuy really became serious about producing fine bubbly at moderate prices. This 20 acre domaine is located in the village of Oger within the Côtes de Blancs sub-region. Renowned for its Chardonnay, Oger produces some of Champagne's finest. In fact, all of its vineyards are rated as 'Grand Cru' (which happens to be less than 9% of all the vineyards in Champagne), according to the Échelle des Crus rating system. This is the best Champagne for under $40.
