A great introduction to Barolo that won't make it feel like your wallet is hemorrhaging, the Cantine Ascheri has Nebbiolo's classic rose and tar aromas underpinned with lots of exotic spice and hints of camphor. On the palate, there's lovely red fruit with hints of anise delivered on a bed of acidity and well-integrated tannins. "Classic, old school Barolo at a steal of a price. Highly recommended."
