Chardonnay grapes grown in Clarksburg are known for their characteristic apple and pear aromas and flavors. Bogle winemakers have captured these refreshing and ripe notes while allowing them to develop and intensify through stainless steel fermentation. Additional grapes are vinted using the techniques of barrel fermentation, sur-lies aging and partial malolactic fermentation, which creates an elegant counterpart to the fresh fruit with tones of spicy vanilla and nutmeg. The creamy mouth feel adds just the final touch on the finish, reminiscent of an apple and pear galette.

This brilliant, golden-straw-colored Chardonnay has distinctive oak flavors paired with robust fruit reminiscent of white peach and Asian pear.

The Matchbook Chardonnay signature style is a delicious balance of fruit and toasty oak. Aromas of apricot, butterscotch and honey are followed by stone fruit fruit flavors layered over luscious crème brûlée, vanilla, toasted oak and butter. There is a nice weight to the wine that leads to a long, lingering finish.

This Yolo County Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic aromas of tobacco, leather and black cherry with a lift of blueberry. Layers of toast, black currant and chocolate flavors are complemented by round soft tannins that carry through to the long, juicy finish.

Our Estate Bottled Petite Sirah has everything you would expect from this intensely flavored grape. The tempranillo and graciano vines grown in our Matchbook Vineyard in the Dunnigan Hills are from cuttings imported from the Pesquera region of Spain. While the traditional flavors of earth, leather and spice are evident from these old world varietals, Matchbook Tempranillo bears its California upbringing in the expansive aromas of black cherry and vanilla. Rich flavors of coffee and mocha mingle with fresh cranberry and rhubarb.

A well-balanced, dry white wine with intriguing scents of green apple, pear and honeydew melon. This lighter-bodied wine has a bright crisp, mineral finish.

Light in color. Nose is ok with dust, earth and pepper. The palate is thin with red pepper, wafer and spice.

This wine evolves into a crisp melange of refreshing fruit from honeydew to citron lemon, ripe kiwi and tart pippin apples. The wine finishes juicy while remaining appropriately acidic and dry with sweet green apple and mango nectar flavors. This is our 18th year of producing Chenin Blanc from Wilson Farms in Clarksburg California, near Sacramento in the Delta. What is special about this location (especially for Chenin Blanc) is the micro climate. This area is about 90 miles East of San Francisco which is an inland valley floor location, prone to heat; however, because of its proximity to the SF Bay, the area is cooled down in the afternoon due to the marine influence. The cool breezes remove heat, yet allow for optimal daytime sunlight and ripening to occur. This cooling effect allows the grapes to maintain larger than normal (for an inland location) natural acidities which inherently makes better wine. The grapes for this wine are harvested in the middle of the night so we receive them nice and cold at the winery bright and early (usually 5 am). We hand sort the grapes and go direct to the press, expressing the juice and cold settling for about 3 days. After the juice is settled, we rack the unfermented juice clean and into stainless steel tanks and ferment cold and slow to express as much aromatics as possible. The wine is not put through malo-lactic so as to preserve the natural acidity and maintain this as an important part of the flavor profile. This wine pairs fabulously with grilled fish tacos and salsa fresca, avocado, fresh lime and cilantro. Try it with summer salads like blood orange, shaved fennel and arugula in a champagne vinaigrette. Or a chioggia beet salad with toasted walnuts and gorgonzola or grilled yellowfin tuna with fresh guacamole, roasted fingerling potatoes and Maui onions.

A fresh and lush mouth feel with flavors of fresh quince, white peach and herbal notes, with a long fruity finish. Enjoy chilled with asparagus vinaigrette, Thai dishes, grilled halibut or roasted chicken.

The Blacks Station is a dense, concentrated Malbec that opens up with aromas of cassis, leather and bright red fruit. Flavors of dried blueberry, cranberry, cocoa and mocha are framed by a good grip of tannins. Due east of Napa, tucked away in northern California's rolling Dunnigan Hills, is a little town called Zamora. But back in the late 1800's, folks around here used to call it Black's Station. At its height, this hub founded by J.J Black boasted a hotel, two stores, a jail, blacksmith shops and a town hall. Today we grow our grapes in Zamora and we like to think that they carry with them the character and frontier-style of that old town.
