Chardonnay grapes grown in Clarksburg are known for their characteristic apple and pear aromas and flavors. Bogle winemakers have captured these refreshing and ripe notes while allowing them to develop and intensify through stainless steel fermentation. Additional grapes are vinted using the techniques of barrel fermentation, sur-lies aging and partial malolactic fermentation, which creates an elegant counterpart to the fresh fruit with tones of spicy vanilla and nutmeg. The creamy mouth feel adds just the final touch on the finish, reminiscent of an apple and pear galette.

Full of flavor, concentration and intensity, this mysterious wine will haunt you well after the last sip is gone. A spectre of rubies sparkles in the glass, awaiting with its first impression. Bright red cherry fruit and black pepper tempt you to take that sip, with hints of brawny juniper, rich blackberry and briary boysenberry in the background. Succulent in mouthfeel, the wine showcases its versatile grape varietals: Petite Sirah, Zinfandel, Cabernet Sauvignon and Mourvedre. Aged for over 24 months in 1 and 2 year old American oak, tones of spicy vanilla and toasted coconut moderate the firm tannins and create a focused and intense finish. This brilliant, golden-straw-colored Chardonnay has distinctive oak flavors paired with robust fruit reminiscent of white peach and Asian pear.

The Matchbook Chardonnay signature style is a delicious balance of fruit and toasty oak. Aromas of apricot, butterscotch and honey are followed by stone fruit fruit flavors layered over luscious crème brûlée, vanilla, toasted oak and butter. There is a nice weight to the wine that leads to a long, lingering finish.

This popular Austrian grape produces a medium-bodied wine with subtle citrus and white peach flavors, a touch of white pepper and a crisp, mineral finish.

A very aromatic variety, Night Harvest Sauvignon Blanc is bursting with the zest of citrus, tropical pineapple, and apricot, and accented by hints of lychee nut and freshly cut fescue, which give it varietal character. Night Harvest Sauvignon Blanc's grapes are harvested at night when the cool air chills the fruit, concentrates the flavors, and preserves the crisp acidity of the grapes.

The grapes were gently crushed and fermented in small temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. 4 tons of our Syrah Noir clone was barrel fermented; another 6.5 tons was fermented in open-top micro bins to extract deep color and flavor. Native yeast was used on 75% of the ferments to add complexity and richness. Tanks were pumped over twice a day until nearly dry, then pressed and aged in oak barrels for 21 months. We like to use an assortment of French, European and American oak and only 22% new to avoid over-oaking. We blended in 9% Cabernet Sauvignon to give the wine depth, richness and improved structure.

Our 2019 Sauvignon Blanc displays classic refreshing characteristics of this grape with bright flavors of lime, passion fruit, kiwi, and a touch of Asian pear. Pairs with seafood, salad, and spicy cuisine.

Tortoise Creek makes handcrafted, small-batch wines selected and blended from sustainable farmers in California. The climate in Clarksburg is almost identical to Carneros in Napa with the same mean annual temperatures and is also very similar to the right bank of Bordeaux. Our Merlot has a deep color and rich aromas of black cherries and plums, accented by herb aromas and spice flavors It is round, rich and ripe with soft tannins.

The Black’s Station Chardonnay shows beautiful aromas of stone fruit, brown sugar, toast and cream followed by broad flavors of melon, custard and sweet fruit. This Yolo County Chardonnay has a rich mouthfeel and a finish that lingers with a hint of oak.

The Crusher Merlot is expressive, with focused aromas of black raspberry, mocha and fennel fronds along with a hint of smokiness. Juicy, slightly tart avors of plum and blackberry contribute to the bright acidity of this wine and are accompanied by cocoa powder and dried strawberry notes. On the nish, toasty French oak inuence comes through as caramel, warm spice and cinnamon stick.

Tinto Rey Rosé is a blend of Matchbook Estate Grown Tempranillo, Tannat and Verdejo. This wine is unique because it was 100% co-fermented, meaning all three varietals were crushed and fermented together for better flavor integration. Our winemakers cold fermented (50°F) the 2019 Rosé in stainless steel tanks to preserve the just-picked fresh fruit flavors. The fermentation was arrested at .5% residual sugar to retain a touch of the natural sweetness of the grapes and add viscosity. A wonderfully crisp and refreshing wine that delivers loads of flavor.

Black’s Station Chardonnay has pretty aromas of stone fruit and barrel spice that lead to fresh flavors of apricot and white peach. The appealing fruit sweetness mingles with a creamy, buttery note. 60% malolactic fermentation adds a nice viscosity.

This Yolo County Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits classic aromas of tobacco, leather and black cherry with a lift of blueberry. Layers of toast, black currant and chocolate flavors are complemented by round soft tannins that carry through to the long, juicy finish.
