Allegrini-Palazzo-della-Torre
This is one of the wines that has made Allegrini famous throughout the world. The vineyard surrounds Villa della Torre, a splendid masterpiece of Renaissance architecture now owned by the family, and produces a full-bodied red wine that has an ageing potential of at least ten years. The blend is the historic combination of Corvina and Rondinella with the addition of a small quantity of Sangiovese. A small percentage of the harvested grapes are left to dry out until December and then added to the previously vinified fresh grapes. The result is a velvety, well-balanced red wine that proffers mature, pulpy fruit.

Boasting an enviable combination of opulence and finesse, this opens with aromas of black plum, vanilla, baking spices and grilled herbs. The rich palate doles out plum cake, black cherry, black pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg alongside smooth, velvety tannins. Gripping intensity holds on through the long finish. Drink through 2025.

Tommasi-Pinot-Grigio-Le-Rosse-2014
Tommasi's Pinot Grigio is grown at the Prunea estate in the Sant'Ambrogio valley of Valpolicella Classico, acquired by the family in 1997. Le Rosse is one of the four main sub-plots of this vineyard, and is planted entirely to Pinot Grigio grapes. The vineyard rows are planted extremely close together and receive intense pruning, resulting in low yields and excellent richness. The wine is fermented entirely in stainless steel. The nose is spicy with hints of tropical fruit, the flavors clean and crisp, and the body round and soft with a crisp finish. This Valpolicella Pinot Grigio can be described as sitting between the richer, more concentrated Pinot Grigio from Friuli to the north, and racier styles from the Veneto at large. Excellent with appetizers, soups and fish.

Luigi-Righetti-Campolieti-Valpolicella-Ripasso-Classico-Superiore
Located in Valgatara, in the depths of Valpolicella Classico, sits the family-run Luigi Righetti estate. Since 1909, when Angelo Righetti first earned a reputation as an outstanding winemaker, the family has focused on producing quality wines of distinction. Gianmaria and Giuseppe are the fourth generation of the Righetti family to carry on the family winemaking tradition. Gianmaria and Giuseppe’s father, Luigi, who is still active in the estate’s day-to-day operations, was the first in the family to consider production for consumers beyond the local market. Gian Maria has gone a step further by crafting wines with a more international flair. Campolieti means “happy fields” and refers to the vineyards from which the grapes are harvested. The wine is made of the traditional Corvina, plus other varietals that has had a second fermentation on the pressings of the Amarone grapes (a process called “ripasso”). You can smell Black-cherry with a raisin-like complex of scents. It has a deep flavor, round tastes punctuated by a slightly bitter hint, delivered with a graceful lightness. Pairs well with steak or pork roasts, hearty pastas, risotto with mushrooms, and seasonal hard cheeses. Enjoy!
