[ yellow tail ] Cabernet Sauvignon

[-yellow-tail-]-Cabernet-Sauvignon
This Cabernet offers easy drinking early but will cellar with confidence. Expect cassis, violets, crushed herbs and a long, soft finish with enough concentration and texture to make the wine feel more serious.
Lindemans Bin 45 Cabernet Sauvignon

Lindemans-Bin-45-Cabernet-Sauvignon
Several important critics have rated this South Eastern Australia wine highly: James Halliday gave the 2009 vintage a score of 90. This wine has won many prizes: the 2010 vintage was awarded Gold from the Mundus Vini, and the 2008 vintage was awarded Gold from the Critics Challenge Wine Competition. This is the seventh most searched for among this region's wines (by Wine-Searcher users). Interest in this wine has been less conspicuous during the year. Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every wine-growing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits; deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

This wine is from Australia. This wine is vibrant red with purple hues. The nose has black currant and mulberry fruits with a hint of white pepper and spice. There are rich dark berry fruits on the palate with a savory middle finished by a soft peppery finish. This Shiraz will pair with soft cheese, grilled lamb or pizza. FANTASTIC VALUE to replace Broken Earth. SYRAH Wine

The Black Stump Durif Shiraz

The-Black-Stump-Durif-Shiraz
You know a wine’s special if customers call the winery demanding more. That’s the devotion The Black Stump inspires. From Alan Kennett, one of an elite few to win the Jimmy Watson Trophy (Australia’s premier wine prize), its name references the mythical Outback landmark (on the label) tied to the Aussie saying ‘beyond the black stump,’ or, ‘middle of nowhere.’ Inky Durif and berry-packed Shiraz used to grow in remote vineyards across South Eastern Australia, so it fits – though this wine’s chocolatey, sun-baked, black-fruit flavors are anything but distant in the glass. With a long history of huge international acclaim, it’s sure to impress your guests (especially when served with hearty beef dishes). Famed for its power, structure, and mocha-tinged, black-fruit character, Durif is “the grape that takes no prisoners” (Tim Atkin, MW). Known as Syrah in France, peppery, berry-packed Shiraz takes on a richer, sun-drenched character in Australia. As Alan says, when you blend Durif with Shiraz “magical things happen.” Together, they turbo-charge each other to make an irresistible style.
