Aged on lees for 6 months in neutral oak. ELEVAGE: 100% neutral oak, 6 months HAPPY CANYON VINEYARD: Planted in 1996, Happy Canyon is the warmest microclimate in the Santa Ynez Valley. Mid-morning fog lifts to sunshine, with summertime temperatures in the low- to mid-90s. CROWN POINT VINEYARD: Crown Point is situated on the other side of the canyon in Happy Canyon, geographically 2 miles away from each other. Crown Point is an estate vineyard & winery located in the foothills of the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA.

Tiradora means “sharpshooter” in Spanish, as this is a direct, focused wine. Layered and complex, this Sauvignon Blanc will keep you intrigued with each sip. Aromatics of gooseberry, lemongrass, and white pepper combined with smoky hints of flint and sea salt. Well-balanced with bright acid, the wine has tension and verve bringing length and energy, plus a slightly rounder mid-palate which carries delicate richness due to a small addition of Semillon. The wine is fermented in a combination of stainless steel, concrete, and neutral barrels with partial malolactic fermentation. Aged for 6 months before filtration and bottling.

Arguably, this is hands down the finest vintage of Cuvee le Bec we have ever produced. There is a unique energy to this vintage that is captivating. With 50% Syrah in the blend, the 2014 has a darker edge with delicious fruit, earth, and spice that are the hallmarks of this wine. Deftly balanced with phenomenal mouthfeel, this could be the longest lived Cuvee le Bec ever produced. With aging potential up to 15-18 years, this, as always, is an incredible value!

In regards to Chenin Blanc 2017 was a change of pace a bit. Prior to harvest I arranged a lease of a vineyard with one acre of Chenin Blanc. Even though the lease didn’t go into effect until Jan. 2018 we were able to purchase the 2017 crop. In addition to this new site, Tres Hermanas Vineyard off Foxen Canyon Rd., we also purchased Chenin from two other sites in the area to do our best to showcase the regional character of the grape through our hands. Typical of all our white wine making, we pressed the juice to tank for 24 hours to settle out the heaviest of sediment before being racked to mostly neutral oak with a few stainless barrels for fermentation and aging. The wine was gently racked twice prior blending to clarify the wine as best as possible. It was bottled after 7 months aging without any fining or filtration. Minimal amounts of sulfur were added after the completion of ML and prior to bottling.

A combination of both tank and barrel fermentations that are aged in neutral barrels. We source our fruit from three vineyards in Happy Canyon called Grassini, McGinley, and Star Lane. Varying soils of sand, shale and gravel at Star Lane and heavier clays with larger yellow and red chert, and serpentine rocks at both McGinley and Grassini.

Our “Volpino” (meaning little fox) has become a staple in our line up of wines at our 7200 “shack”. Faith Vineyard located in a small oak-studded valley below Figueroa Mountain--grows great Sangiovese year after year. We blend in some Merlot (from Vogelzang Vineyard in Happy Canyon) to round out the mouthfeel and soften the Sangiovese’s tannins. This wine is bottled after 22 months in French oak barrels. This wine is always one of our most popular foxen 7200 wines.

Our Chardonnay is golden in color with aromas of yellow apples, fresh pear, and shaved coconut. On the palate it boasts bright flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, and lemon juice with balanced minerality on the finish. This is a lively and refreshing wine - a perfect accompaniment to a variety of foods or on its own.

With zesty aromas of spiced cranberry and fresh thyme, and a mouthwatering palate of mixed berries, red cherries, and savory herbs, the Folded Hills Cluster Grenache invokes the flavors of the season. The modest weight, and stimulating finish make this wine the perfect pairing alongside your holiday meals, or to satisfy your palate through the slightly cooler months of winter. Ruben’s careful farming of our estate Grenache provided a harvest of healthy fruit perfectly set on their clusters. Angela chose to respect his work by fermenting our Cluster Grenache using perfectly intact grape clusters. The approach is called whole cluster, or carbonic, fermentation, thus the name of the wine. The effect is zesty freshness and a wonderfully energetic palate, a wine full of presence while remaining relatively light bodied. Enjoy this satisfying wine on its own or with a meal.

My initial sniff reveals aromas of darker red fruits which to me consist of Raspberries, Strawberries and Rhubarb. I also pick up a little coffee and mocha after sitting in the glass for a few minutes. This is a very heady wine which really opens up with a little time in the glass. Once I taste the wine, my palate has a very even coating of fruit and flavor. The palate also has a nice firm grip to it and the tannins are very even and chalky. Overall the wine has really nice balance.

“Dierberg follows up its outstanding 2009 offering with another splendid Syrah that hits one high point after the other. It is rife with deep and exceptionally well-defined fruit, and its insistent themes of blackberries, spice and cured meats do not ease up even as a fair bit of grippy young tannin takes hold. It is ripe but eschews jamminess and shows very good structure and balance for the solid, rather gutsy wine that it is. While sure to impress in the short term, it is not meant for hasty drinking, and it can be held for eight to ten years before reaching what is certain to be its considerable best.”
