Aged on lees for 6 months in neutral oak. ELEVAGE: 100% neutral oak, 6 months HAPPY CANYON VINEYARD: Planted in 1996, Happy Canyon is the warmest microclimate in the Santa Ynez Valley. Mid-morning fog lifts to sunshine, with summertime temperatures in the low- to mid-90s. CROWN POINT VINEYARD: Crown Point is situated on the other side of the canyon in Happy Canyon, geographically 2 miles away from each other. Crown Point is an estate vineyard & winery located in the foothills of the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara AVA.

La Passion du Diable is the dark light that drew us into this project. Always 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is our magnum opus. Our inspiration is drawn from the dense mystery surrounding Cabernet’s hold on our imaginations. Everything we have is brought to bear in this wine. Grapes were cold soaked for 7 days with one punchdown and pumpover per day. FERMENTATION: Fermented for 4 weeks in 100% new French oak ELEVAGE: 16 months on fine lees with one racking after fall. STARLANE VINEYARD: Situated on the Eastern edge of Santa Ynez Valley in the Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara. With vineyard elevations ranging from 750 to 1550 feet above sea level, microclimates emerge within the site to produce a beautiful and diverse palette that helps create a distinct range of estate fruit hand.

VARIETAL: Gewürztraminer VINEYARD: Riboli APPELATION/AVA: Central Coast of California CASES: 1350 TASTING NOTES: Honeysuckle, green tea, tangerine, lychee, pineapple ON PRODUCTION: 100% destemmed like a red. Soaked in juice for 12 hours of skin contact to extract flavor. A natural pink comes from the skins. ON FERMENTATION: Fermented in tank and temperature controlled for 4 weeks at 50°F. Rack from heavy lees and aged 6 months in stainless steel. ON RIBOLI VINEYARD: Riboli estate is situated in Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey County. Weather is generously warm but never too hot, allowing the Gewürztraminer to come slowly to maturity. Cold nights and foggy mornings help give the grapes good acidity.

True Sauvignon Blanc flavors of citrus zest, gooseberry, cream, mineral and dried grass are well balanced between the rich texture from barrel fermentation and the vibrant energy from the grapes.

Tiradora means “sharpshooter” in Spanish, as this is a direct, focused wine. Layered and complex, this Sauvignon Blanc will keep you intrigued with each sip. Aromatics of gooseberry, lemongrass, and white pepper combined with smoky hints of flint and sea salt. Well-balanced with bright acid, the wine has tension and verve bringing length and energy, plus a slightly rounder mid-palate which carries delicate richness due to a small addition of Semillon. The wine is fermented in a combination of stainless steel, concrete, and neutral barrels with partial malolactic fermentation. Aged for 6 months before filtration and bottling.

Arguably, this is hands down the finest vintage of Cuvee le Bec we have ever produced. There is a unique energy to this vintage that is captivating. With 50% Syrah in the blend, the 2014 has a darker edge with delicious fruit, earth, and spice that are the hallmarks of this wine. Deftly balanced with phenomenal mouthfeel, this could be the longest lived Cuvee le Bec ever produced. With aging potential up to 15-18 years, this, as always, is an incredible value!

In regards to Chenin Blanc 2017 was a change of pace a bit. Prior to harvest I arranged a lease of a vineyard with one acre of Chenin Blanc. Even though the lease didn’t go into effect until Jan. 2018 we were able to purchase the 2017 crop. In addition to this new site, Tres Hermanas Vineyard off Foxen Canyon Rd., we also purchased Chenin from two other sites in the area to do our best to showcase the regional character of the grape through our hands. Typical of all our white wine making, we pressed the juice to tank for 24 hours to settle out the heaviest of sediment before being racked to mostly neutral oak with a few stainless barrels for fermentation and aging. The wine was gently racked twice prior blending to clarify the wine as best as possible. It was bottled after 7 months aging without any fining or filtration. Minimal amounts of sulfur were added after the completion of ML and prior to bottling.

A combination of both tank and barrel fermentations that are aged in neutral barrels. We source our fruit from three vineyards in Happy Canyon called Grassini, McGinley, and Star Lane. Varying soils of sand, shale and gravel at Star Lane and heavier clays with larger yellow and red chert, and serpentine rocks at both McGinley and Grassini.

Our “Volpino” (meaning little fox) has become a staple in our line up of wines at our 7200 “shack”. Faith Vineyard located in a small oak-studded valley below Figueroa Mountain--grows great Sangiovese year after year. We blend in some Merlot (from Vogelzang Vineyard in Happy Canyon) to round out the mouthfeel and soften the Sangiovese’s tannins. This wine is bottled after 22 months in French oak barrels. This wine is always one of our most popular foxen 7200 wines.

Our Chardonnay is golden in color with aromas of yellow apples, fresh pear, and shaved coconut. On the palate it boasts bright flavors of tropical fruit, citrus, and lemon juice with balanced minerality on the finish. This is a lively and refreshing wine - a perfect accompaniment to a variety of foods or on its own.
