Pale and vibrant in color. The Pascal Jolivet Sancerre is fresh, clean and screaming with racy acidity. On the palate it is fresh and tightly wound; acidity is tempered by very subtle residual sugar; very clean; alive, racy, youthful. Overall, a dry and elegant wine.

Our white Sancerre Moulin des Vrillères is a blend of our different parcels of Sauvignon. It expresses clearly its aromas of white flowers and citrus fruits, and lingers long on the palate. The dominant fresh mouth does not betray its terroir. One can open it as an aperitif and finish it with fresh or mature goat's cheese.

Intense and complex, this fresh, mineral wine with hints of grapefruit is a perfect match for seafood, grilled light fish and goat cheese. The Sancerre Blanc vines are planted in communes within the Sancerre appellation. Grapes are harvested terroir by terroir when they reach their peak of ripeness. The juices from each individual terroir are then blended harmoniously to yield a unique and versatile wine.

The SANCERRE WHITE WINE AOC 2013 comes exclusively from the SAUVIGNON GRAPE variety which is cultivated on 16 hectares (¾ Caillotes, ¼ Terres Blanches). As soon as harvested, the white grapes are pressed in a pneumatic press and separated from the musts. The temperature during the fermentation is carefully controlled to give the wine bloom and elegance. The fermentation is made thanks to a fermenting starter of natural yeasts. Musts are regularly pumped over, then blended and after fined over bentonite. It is then cooled to avoid tartaric sediment and filtered through Kieselguhr. TASTING NOTES Appearance: Pale yellow crystalline appearance with occasional green flecks. Nose: The initial impression on the nose is one of discreet intensity with varietal fragrances opening out into aromas of blackcurrant leaves and floral notes of limeflower and verbena. Upon aeration, notes of acacia are revealed. Palate: The lively attack on the palate brings a refreshing acidity, enhanced by nuances of citrus fruits and hints of peach. The mineral finish adds balance to this characteristic and harmonious Sancerre. Excellent terroir wine: rich and sophisticated. Tasting notes providede by Gely Yveline, professional sommelier (Brevet Professionnel de Sommellerie) 04.03.14. It can be drunk as an aperitif. Served with starter dishes, it accompanies very well seafood and fish as well as the famous Chavignol goat cheese. It should be served at a temperature between 8° to 10°.

Henri-Bourgeois-Sancerre-Bonnes-Bouches
For 10 generations, the Bourgeois family has been cultivating vines in the heart of the Sancerre region on the best slopes. The estate stretches over the famous village of Chavignol known for its goat cheese but also for its wines. The vines for the Les Gonnes Bouches Sancerre are are 20-40 years old planted on chalky/clay soil. It is fermented in stainless steel and spends 5 months oak-aging on its lees preserving its aromatic qualities. This and the use of gravity for each stage of the wine making characterize the quality and style of "Bourgeois". The 2011 (now bottled in screw cap) has aromas of tropical fruit and citrus flavors that are both seductively intense, yet with a subtle, refined elegance. Its persistence and harmony makes your mouth water for another sip. Enjoy as an apertif before the meal or with fish, scallops, or the famous Chavignol goat cheese.

This family estate in Sancerre has old vine Sauvignon Blanc planted on caillottes soils in the commune of Verdigny, and on Silex soils in the area of Saint Satur. The owners of the vineyard are not winemakers and so they sell the entire production each year to a negociaint-eleveur named Laurent Gerard. The roots of the vines draw from two particular terroirs to imbue the wine with its unique characteristics. "Les Caillottes," which is predominantly limestone, brings finess and fruit notes. "Silex" is deeper, with more flint and minerals that give the wine structure and excellent depth as a serious "vin de soif." Verdigny has recently become associated with distinctive, high quality wines that they are often referred to as "crus" even though Sancerre is not officially classified like parts of Bordeaux and Burgundy. These 45+ year old vines are some of the hidden treasures that offer us the unprecedented values such as "La Foret des Dames".

Grape variety: Sauvignon Blanc Terroir: Chalky-clay The hills and ridges separating the village of Chavignol from Sancerre are composed of clay and limestone chalk (65% clay and 35% chalk). “Les Baronnes” comes from this terroir so long planted with vines. Delicate nose with aromas of white flesh fruits and citrus, this Sancerre is highlighted by its typicity and its great expression of the Sauvignon grape. “Les Baronnes” is a wine of exotic fruit and citrus aromas; subtle yet powerful. Its persistence and harmony find their origin in the exposition and quality of the terroir.

Citrus, stone fruit, mineral and sweet herbs are the principal aromas here. Dry, crisp and fresh, this is a very well-balanced wine. Fruit and acid play off each others' strengths. Medium-bodied with a long crisp fruit finish.

de-Ladoucette-Comte-Lafond-“Grande-Cuvée”-Sancerre-Blanc
Overview Comte Lafond Grande Cuvée is produced by Baron Patrick de Ladoucette in the Loire Valley on soils that are mainly limestone with some parcels of flint clay. Patrick is sometimes referred to as "The King of the Loire Valley" for his contribution to the worldwide recognition and acclaim of this appellation. Les Deux Tours wines originate from a terroir that is known as the “Valley of the Kings,” which is located along the Loire River, the longest waterway in France. The growing area is the Sancerre Controlled Appellation area, which includes the villages of Bué, Chaudoux, Chavignol and Verdigny. Vines are aged from 25 to 35 years. The soil is a combination of clay, limestone and silica. Winemaking The grapes are transported in wagons which have bases that open to allow the grapes to empty uniquely by gravity. The winery is made up of three levels. The first level is where the grapes are received and sorted without crushing keeping the grapes from the different parcels separate. The juice then flows simply by gravity to the second level where the pressing with the division of the juice "à la champenoise" takes place. The third level is where the wine clarified using a cooling system to regulate the temperature of the juice with maceration “pulpaire”. Fermentation in stainless vats temperature-controlled to 64°F for six to eight weeks. On lees for three to six months with regulation agitation. The wine is never placed in wooden barrels in order to preserve the natural aromas of the grapes. Tasting Notes A beautiful aromatic intensity developing delicate floral notes (small white flowers, blackcurrants) followed by powerful mineral aromas (pebbles and gun powder). An elegant bouquet, complex and typical of the richness of this great terroir. In the mouth, the attack is round and supple with a slight lovely tangy touch. Intense aromatic notes on a fleshy mineral structure reinforce the complexity. The finish is long and harmonious, full of fruity notes (both exotic and citrus). Food Pairing This wine pairs beautifully this wine with shellfish, seafood and goat cheeses. TECHNICAL INFORMATION Varietals: 100% Sauvignon Blanc Harvest Start Date: September 15, 2016 Soil Composition: A combination of clay, limestone and silica.

Lucien Crochet Le Chene is produced from clay-limestone vineyards in the village of Bué. Because of the vineyards' excellent southerly exposure, this bottling is often harvested earlier than other cuvees, leading it to maintain a particularly well-endowed acidity to frame the ripe fruit and elegant mineral. Organic vineyard practices have been exclusively employed by Crochet for over 20 years.
