The "B" of Loudenne, which consists of grapes from the bottom of the hills of Château Loudenne, is the Bordeaux AOC area close to the Médoc appellation. Château Grandchemin Monplaisir is the estate of Producta Vignobles. 7ha of vines, of which 4ha are old vines of 40 years of age, are spread out over different soil types with clay, gravel and limestone. This soil diversity gives the wine all its subtlety of taste. The name is derived from the two hamlets, Monplaisir and Grand Chemin, in which most of the vineyards of the estate are planted. Saint-Estèphe is one of the largest communal appellations of the Médoc, with a surface area of 1370 hectares. The vineyard is planted on well-drained gravel outcrops which protect the vines from excessive humidity. The sub soil, made up of clay and limestone, gives the wines their unique personality. Saint-Estèphe wines are tannic, deep and powerful and with age they take on body, fruitiness and delicacy. GRAPE VARIETIES 60% Merlot, 40% Cabernet sauvignon TASTING Attractive deep red colour. Nose of ripe fruit, pleasantly oaky, fine. Full on the palate, fruity, lightly toasted with well-integrated tannins.

Beau-Site means beautiful site: Chateau Beau-Site, neighbour to Chateau Calon-Ségur, lies on one of Medoc’s highest points, and one has a fantastic view over the river Gironde. Beau-Sites 18th century underground cellar is one of the oldest in the Medoc and presents the perfect maturing conditions for a wine that is vinified with the same care and technique as a Grand Cru Classé. Beau-Sites wine is full of power and temperament, a typical Saint-Estèphe with tannins allowing for stocking this wine for some years.

The proportion of Merlot has been increased in the 2008 vintage, relative to other Châteaux in the area, to give the wine a more fleshy aspect. This makes the wine more approachable at a younger age, yet provides enough structure for aging.

The wine is a glittering, deep ruby red. The nose opens on discreet, elegant and warm chocolate and mocha notes, developing fresher aromas of blackcurrant, ripe fruit and dill on airing, together with perfectly integrated oak. The palate is bright, supple and clean, the velvety, beautifully balanced tannic structure in full harmony with the toasted brioche and liquorice flavours. The fruit flavours remain on the relatively long and very fresh finish. Blend: 76% Merlot, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon
