The Château Rauzan Gassies cellar is home to bottles that are remarkable in terms of age and size. The oldest bottles date back to 1944. Thanks to regular upkeep, refilling and new corks, we have preserved the vintages with great cellaring potential over time. Approximately two-thirds of our vintages are kept in the cellar. Thanks to chateau cellaring, those who love old vintages can enjoy the full expression of the wine. The cellar is not only a family heirloom, it is also a vital quality reference tool for our blending process, when we craft a new vintage by comparing it to older vintages.

The wine was aged in 20% new French oak barrels.

Beautiful, fairly dense red color with tangerine reflections. Nice dress, already ripe color. Open nose, rising to very slightly truffled notes. Silky attack, round body with very soft tannins which bring a pleasant finish and leave the mouth satisfied; if it does not have a great power, it nevertheless leaves a desire to taste again.

Chateau-Siran-Margaux
Château Siran is an important Margaux estate that was once owned by the painter Toulouse-Lautrec`s great-grandmother. Since 1848 Siran has been owned by the Miailhe family and today run by Edouard Miailhe. Siran is located in the far south of the Margaux appellation in the commune of Labarde. Siran has 25 hectares of vineyards which are very well-sited on a high gravel ridge. They are planted with Cabernet Sauvignon (41%), Merlot (46%), Petit Verdot (12%) and Cabernet Franc (1%). The grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled, stainless steel tanks and the wine is then aged in small oak barrels (35% new) for 12-15 months. Siran's wines are typically classic and elegant in character, displaying good ripeness of fruit, with hints of vanilla buttressed by smooth and almost seamless tannins. Advised since 2004 by the wine-making consultancy teams of Professor Denis Dubourdieu.
