Chateau-Belgrave-Haut-Medoc-2010
The wine is almost black, and deep. It reveals a complex bouquet, though still restrained by the wine’s youth, and exudes powerful, fruit-laden, spicy notes with a hint of mint. The wine is generous, silky and very well balanced on the palate, and gains structure from the extremely fine-grained Cabernet tannins, which envelop the palate and are present throughout the tasting. The body, structure and freshness of the wine are remarkably wellbalanced, and add to the exceptionally long finish. An extremely elegant Belgrave wine, born of a vintage of great ageing potential.

Chateau-Devise-d’Ardilley
Château Devise D'Ardilley was created in 1991. It has modern winemaking facilities and vine plots which have gradually been grouped together and replanted. The estate was bought in 2000 by Madeleine and Jacques Philippe, realising a personal dream: born in the Bordeaux area, Madeleine wanted to return to her roots, while Philippe, a qualified engineer having pursued a career with a major services company, wanted to become a winegrower. Their dream became a reality and the wine obtained Cru Bourgeois status in the 2003 classification.

Chateau-D’Arvigny-Haut-Medoc-Bordeaux
Description Characterized by supple; feminine structure, which is often silky. The tannins are generally mellow and rarely aggressive. All this contributes to making the wine full of charm and finesse. It can be tasted young, except for certain vintages which absolutely must be allowed to rest for a few years in the cellar. It highlights the dominance of Cabernet Sauvignon on this land which is reputed to be among the best for growing this varietal.

Chateau-Cantemerle-Haut-Medoc
A stunning deep ruby appearance with hints of purple shine reaching out of the glass, there is a delicate smell of spring flowers, perfumed raspberry and blueberry notes. On the palate, the wine has plenty of tannins, yet they are not the defining feature of this well executed wine with lots of character, texture and finesse.

Chateau-Saint-Ahon-Haut-Medoc
0 While this is currently a tough proposition, the inherent fruitiness of this structured wine augurs well for its future. With berry fruits under the dark tannins and some slight bitterness from wood aging, it needs time. Drink from 2017.
L’Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen Haut-Medoc

L’Oratoire-de-Chasse-Spleen-Haut-Medoc
The greatest Médoc wines have chosen, and they were the first to do so, to select their vintages so as to enhance the assets of this great wine, and to reduce the vintage-years’ vagaries and guarantee some stability in their qualitative supply. In the seventies, many Médoc vintages embarked on this course. Chasse-Spleen, in turn, took part in this movement in 1979, with Oratoire de Chasse-Spleen. The practical experience allowing winegrowers to dedicate such and such a vine plot to the great wine or to the second wine, is through grape tasting. The grape juice can indeed vary in taste from one year to the other, while the soil remains unchanged. Chasse-Spleen’s soil is a set on two types of ground: gravel on a calcareous-clay sub-soil and clay on limestone. Rainfalls and sunshine throughout the year will produce a different nature in the berries that grow on a particular plot of land. Furthermore, we have to agree that the Chasse-Spleen team know of the inability of some plots, whatever the climatic data, to produce the first wine. We call them quality C plots. The great soils spare us a lot of watch-time because they are very self-sufficient. On the other hand, more work has to be done on « lesser-expectation » plots : they have to be incessantly pulled in the increase. Thus, in working so as to enhance the quality potential of each class of plots, all our vintages must raise their quality accordingly. Plots which might fall into the great wine category, thus answering climatic data particular to the year, we call quality B plots. The other plots which give year in year out a great wine, from experience and without any major climatic hitch, , are called quality A plots. The age of vines being decisive regarding the quality potential, some plots might pass accordingly from C to B and eventually to A. With the second wine, some grapes from quality B and C plots can be found, whereas there are solely grapes from quality A and B plots in the great wine. Like-wise, the ampelography and viticulture have strinkingly and sufficiently improved, so as to better adapt a rootstock to the ground. This also precipitates the hierarchical promoting of the vine-stock.

With an unusually high proportion (nearly 17%) of Petit Verdot in the blend, this is both darkly structured and dark in color. It is weight, intense youthful acidity and black-currant fruits. It's also rich, full of tannins and in need of several years. Drink from 2021.

L’Heritage-de-Chasse-Spleen-Haut-Medoc
Chasse Spleen is an extremely strong brand in the French markets and was selected as one of six Crus Exceptionnels in the Cru Bourgeois classification of 1932. From the estate’s youngest vines and the same fabulous gravel terroir, L’Héritage de Chasse Spleen is more precocious than its predecessor, the Moulis star. In order to increase the quality of its production, Céline Villars, the owner, performs a very selective sorting and tearing of the weakest plots. The vineyard, consisting of four parcels, is mainly located on deep and gravelly soils, and includes very old vines, since the average age of vines and 35 years. Cabernet Sauvignon represents 73% of the estate, Merlot 20% and Petit Verdot 7%. This famous house, whose name is due to an illustrious poet passing through the region of Moulis in Médoc, has been able to highlight its terroir and the quality of its wines. Manual harvesting, controlled fermentation and aging in traditional oak barrels bring this typical velvety and warm wine.
