Wine in Cahors

The majority of the grapes for Le Temps Infini Malbec come from the Lot region in South West France near Cahors, France's natural home for Malbec. In making Le Temps Infini Malbec, Communal Brands partnered with one of the foremost experts in the region: a family estate compromised of 27 hectares of organically farmed vineyards, where a younger generation has been farming without herbicides and chemicals since the 1990s. The vine ages range between 15 and 30 years. The grapes were fully destemmed and crushed, followed by a slow fermentation at 20°C. The wine macerated on the skins with punch downs for 15 days. It was then racked off the skins, followed by 8 months of aging in concrete tanks. Light filtration was done before bottling. The goal was to avoid an overly intense extraction and to showcase the beautiful floral and fruit notes that Malbec achieves in South West France. This new packaging represents a balance between form and function. It is eco-friendly and convenient, while still being elegant, eye-catching, and memorable. It has all the convenience of the bag-in-box with none of the stigma.

The vineyards located mostly on limestone slopes and clay-limestone soil over an expanse of 33 hectares. L'Instant is a delicious example of balance of fruit and earth that French Malbec can attain. In 96 A.D., the Roman emperor Domitian ordered France’s vines to be grubbed up and cereals to be grown instead. In 280 A.D., after the order was annulled by another emperor, Probus, the vine was planted in the Quercy region once again. It was in tribute to him that Jean, the father of Jean-Luc Baldès, created the first cuvée of this top-of-the range Appellation Cahors wine in 1976. Colour: Dark purplish red, with bright glints. Nose: Black fruits and a subtle oaky aroma. In the mouth: Complex, long finish, rich and balanced. Keeping: Can be drunk young if decanted, but is made to be laid down

France's Cahors region is undergoing a wine renaissance, with historic native variety malbec leading the way. This wine is brimming with aromas and flavours of aromatic red fruit, plum with notes of spices and figs. A perfect pairing for grilled meats and fine cheeses.

Dark red colour. Very fruity nose, both powerful and elegant. Very round and soft on the palate with great fruit intensity.

The Gouleyant from Georges Vigoroux is produced primarily from Cahor?s Malbec grapes. This results in a rich red with prominent flavors of raspberry, blackcurrant, cherries and toast. Rich, luscious and well balanced, Gouleyant pairs with duck, goose, lamb, red meats and cheese.?

Clos la Coutale wine is produced from Malbec and Merlot grapes. The yield is on average 45hl/ha which enables good maturation and regular quality over the years. Vinification is carried out in thermo-controlled vats, and regular "pigeages'' (breaking-up of the layer formed on top of the juice) both ensure maximum extraction of the "bouquet" and the fruit. Clos la Coutale is then elaborated in oak barrels to obtain a full balance between the tannins and the fruit.
