Umani-Ronchi-Jorio-Montepulciano-d’Abruzzo
Jorio is Umani Ronchi’s selected Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC. It was created in the mid‐1990s to express the great potential of this varietal, in collaboration with fanatically dedicated Abruzzese winegrowers with vineyards in particularly favorable areas for its growth. The name of the wine is intended as a tribute to the great twentieth century Abruzzese poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, who made his wild, provincial native soil into a “barbaric” novelty, exciting and transgressive, with which he stirred and won the public’s favor. To quote D’Annunzio’s dedication to his pastoral tragedy The Daughter of Jorio: “To the land of Abruzzi, to my mother, to my sisters, to my brother in exile, to my buried father, to all my dead, to all my people between the mountains and the sea, this song of ancient blood I consecrate.”

Dazzling with enticing fruit and fresh herb aromas, a scintillating mouthful of rich peach and grapefruit is evident on the palate. Lemon, lime and a mineral crispness also persist with a gentle spicy finish. The Farnese team add to their already impressive range with an authentic, intensely refreshing Pinot Grigio. Full of crisp, invigorating citrusy flavours, it's sure to be the next Farnese showstopper! The grapes come from one solitary vineyard in the mountainous Molise.  It's a thrilling landscape of high, empty spaces and little lost towns. Pinot Grigio is rarely grown here but winemakers Valentino, Flippo and Camillo thought the potential was huge. So they found their spot, grew the vines… and proved their point!

Valle-Reale-Montepulciano-D’Abruzzo
Because of its unique location, Valle Reale has redefined Montepulciano d’Abruzzo: at 1,100+ feet above sea level, Valle Reale’s vineyards are nestled into one of Italy’s most beautiful national parks. This rich wine is made from 100% Montepulciano d’Abruzzo grown in the oldest estate vineyards on soils rich in chalk, clay and pebbles. Harvested by hand in November, the grapes are gently pressed and macerated with the skins for ten days to ensure ideal color concentration and structure. Ruby-red in color, this wine is surprisingly concentrated. With silky tannins and layers of dark berry fruit and spices, this is a rich and aromatic Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Full-bodied and firm, yet supple. It is ready to be enjoyed with hearty pasta dishes, roasted poultry or lamb, and slow cooked ribs.
