Saved from extinction, Chile’s revival of the Carmenere is something to celebrate. This wine comes to your glass from a 19th century family-run vineyard in Colchagua Valley. Its violet hue and blow-your-mind nose of plum and spice is nothing compared to its deliciously afternoonifed taste.

Intense violet in color with ripe aromas of blackberries and warm spice. Full-bodied and fruit-forward with plum, cherry and a hint of smoke. Smooth tannins and good structure create perfect balance and a powerful finish with notes of vanilla. Try Root: 1 Carmenere with hearty chili, pork stew or barbeque ribs. We work with a group of selected blocks and vines that show their concentration of flavors and aromatic profile to perfection. The yield is very low, only 4 tons per hectare to achieve all the strength and fruit concentration needed for this wine. A good example of serious Carmenere from Chile. The grapes are picked by hand in April, for good concentration, nice flavors and aromas. The wine is racked in barrels and aged for better structure and softer character. It is bottled unfiltered to keep all the body and expression of it.

Brilliant red purple inked color. Packed with aromas of black and white spices, red pepper and grassy notes, ripe red and black fruit with light tobacco and bitter chocolate hints. Balanced and elegant, with a velvety texture, red fruit and cacao flavors aftertaste. Showing a medium body, with a round mid palate and a long finish, on a smoky spicy texture.
