The palate is driven with the flavors of fresh crushed apple cider and then slight butterscotch on the mid-palate, which then folds back into baked apple pie flavors with trace cinnamon spices. The finish of the wine comes back to citrus flavors, but still smacks of the apple butterscotch flavors.
The nose shows layer after layer of cassis, saddle leather and dried leaves. The wine's massive structure is complemented by flavors of pipe smoke, black cherry, and a lengthy finish of sweet vanilla oak. Drink this Cab with mesquite-grilled hangar steak and BBQ'd corn on the cob.
