The Renegade Wine Co. is excited to release the newest vintage of our rosé, the 2014 Columbia Valley Rosé! It was made from 50% Syrah, 21% Cinsault, 18% Grenache, 6% Counoise, and 5% Mouvedre. The grapes were pressed directly after harvesting, and the juice was drained to stainless steel tanks, where the wine was fermented at a cool temperature to retain the fresh fruit characters of the final product. It has wonderful aromas of fresh pomegranates and citrus, some sweet red berries, and even rhubarb. This wine will be the perfect pairing with a fresh beet salad and crumbled goat cheese, or grilled salmon on your deck.
Husch Renegade Sauvignon Blanc continues in the wild tradition of the debut 2000 vintage. For this unique wine we step back from our traditional model for Sauvignon Blanc and break the rules. To begin, we do not add yeast to this wine. Instead we allow the native or “renegade” yeasts residing in the vineyard and winery to start the fermentation process. We believe that this process gives the wine additional complexity and nuance. We also age the wine in oak barrels – a common technique for Chardonnay – but not the norm for Sauvignon Blanc.
