The 2012 Lodi Zinfandel is dark garnet in color with some wonderful old vine character aromas. There are notes of blackberry fruit, spice cake, fresh tobacco, white pepper, and fresh strawberry. In the mouth, you experience flavors of dried cranberry, blackberry, blackstrap molasses, brambly Zin fruit, toasted walnut, and hints of mocha laced cappuccino. This blend finishes with notes of dark chocolate, dried cherry, vanilla from American oak, and deep toasted hazelnut from French oak.
Lodi, CA- A nose of cherries and spice, dark garnet in color. A medium bodied Zin, with raspberries, black cherries, and spices. This was a nice surprise. Tobacco, pepper and red fruits. Quite a mouthful.
Opaque in color, this Petite Sirah bursts with aromas of muddle blackberries, fresh caramel, and smoky oak. At second swirl, there is a distinct tobacco leaf aroma with other subtle notes of dried vanilla bean, brambly blueberries and coriander seed finishing with an earthy Lodi terrior stamp. True to it’s varietal, flavors of intense blackberry, dried cherry and wild strawberries glide across the palate. The finish lingers back toward the earthy nuances of forest floor with a hint of mocha.
