Aromas of dark plum and rich floral notes are enhanced with a mouthful of classic Cabernet Franc tannins, black pepper and licorice notes. A lovely mid-palate of candied fruit and blackberry preserves finishes with gripping acidity; a sign of great potential for cellaring over the next decade and beyond.
Everyone’s favorite go-to weeknight Cab shines in 2015. Bright aromas of blackberry, candied fruit, vanilla and brown sugar leads to a more savory palate of pomegranate, green pepper and oil cured olives. This Cabernet finishes with bright acidity and lingering tannins. We recommend opening this wine now and enjoying it at a young age, however, this will age well for 4-6 years when properly cellared.
A dark story needs a dark wine, which is why we created this blend, typical of a traditional Châteauneuf-du-Pape. The first sip of this wine surprises the palate with soft, supple flavors of raspberry jam and currant. The midpalate opens up to a complex layering of minty eucalyptus, black pepper and leather and finishes with a structured backbone of earth and spice.
The 2013 vintage in Yakima Valley was hotter than normal through most of the growing season. Long, warm days sped up the ripening process through the end of August, and abruptly came to a screeching halt in early September. From this point until harvest, the late ripening varietals gained full flavors without excessive sugar accumulations. After barrel aging and bottling, it became readily apparent that 2013 was an exceptional vintage for the Bordeaux varietals. The massive ripe flavors are beautifully balanced with nice acidity and gorgeous aromas. This is a vintage that will improve for over a decade, or possibly even two, with cool cellaring. Aged 10 months in French oak barrels.
The Ex Umbris is a great expression of the bold fruit flavors from that year. Bursting with aromas of red plum, blueberry and pink peppercorn. The palate is filled with refreshing flavors of fresh summer blackberries, currant, and dark chocolate with noticibly structured acidity and silky tannins.
Aromas of cigar box, toasty oak, licorice and bright berry fruits are graced with flavors of pink peppercorn, vanilla, smoked cherries and a touch of dusty earth. This velvety textured Cabernet Sauvignon is a bit tight now, so we recommend decanting for an hour or two if opened immediately. Cellar for 12+ years.
