This wine’s clear and luminous salmon pink hue is typical of Pinot Noir rosés. This 100% Pinot Noir rosé starts off with floral notes and opens up to aromas of blackcurrant buds. Round on the palate with freshness and good length this delightfully dry wine stands out for its freshness and aromatic finesse. Very refreshing and a little too easy to drink! It’ll go well with charcuteries, white meats on the grill and spicy Asian cuisine.
Ranked fourth among the wines from this region with respect to number of prizes won: the 2012 vintage was awarded Commended from the International Wine Challenge as well as Commended from the Decanter World Wine Awards.

The vines for the Joseph Mellot Le Rabault Sancerre Rouge are 25 – 30 years old and are planted on very steep slopes with flint rich soils, which is unique in the appellation, giving the wine a unique character. Debudding occurs in May to limit yields. The grapes are harvested at the peak of their maturity and vinification takes place under carefully controlled temperatures to extract the tannins gently.
