riginally from Switzerland, the Cattin family settled in Alsace in 1720 and started planting their vineyards, along with many other crops. It wasn't until the 1950's when the family decided to focus entirely on wine production, and soon afterward the Joseph Cattin brand was established. To create their fine wines, grapes are harvested from vineyards throughout the Alsace appellation so the finished product benefits from the different terroirs of the region. After fermentation, the wines are aged in traditional wooden barrels, some of which are over one hundred years old.
Flavorful with rich aromas and distinctive notes of ripe tropical fruits, this wine can be enjoyed alone or paired with spicy and exotic cuisine, strong cheeses or desserts.Classic lychee, rosewater, nutmeg and floral notes accented by white pepper. The palate is richly textured with good weight and presence. The sweetness is balanced by the fruit and the acidity. Crisp, fresh and long. Enjoy with ham.
