The Bailly family has owned a vineyard in Pouilly Sur Loire forever, but the current owners are not stuck in their ways. Both brothers learned their craft at the wine school in Beaune and introduced some of the new methods when they took over from their father. They are dedicated to producing typical flinty Pouilly Fumé, a wine that is heavier and more strongly flavoured than neighbouring Sancerre. These wines are best drunk with food and will take age well. For more info visist www.domaine-bailly.com
Solutre is a very specific and famous area in Pouilly Fuisse and produces some of the best wine from this area. This wine is no exception. Lite gold and clear, this Chardonnay wine has flavors of lemon, apple, honey and minerals. Lite oak, medium acidity and body make this a very pleasant apertif or match for chicken or fish.
