Intense and true to the traditional Nebbiolo wine making: brings you back to the piedmont woods where your floor is made of wet leaves and mushroom. It’s dry as much as elegant and refined. notes of fresh fruit alternate with more dry elements and noble spices. the finish is imperious and a true legacy to its terroir.
The Guidobono estate was born from a dream of one day being able to produce great Barolo. The Faccenda family purchased the winery in 2003 and set about making that dream a reality. The vineyards lie just outside of the tiny hamlet of Monforte d’Alba, one of the most prestigious growing zones for the Nebbiolo grape. The vines are between 30 and 40 years old and the soil is of primarily limestone composition with some clay and sand. Guidobono’s wines are textbook interpretations of the indigenous grapes of the Langhe, driven by tradition. The Nebbiolos especially are austere yet approachable.
