Combining the style of Chablis and the ripe fruit flavors of California Chardonnay, our Sonoma Coast Chardonnay is crisp and flinty, with layers of green apple, lime, tropical fruit and spice. An extended growing season, coupled with a long, slow, cool fermentation, gave this wine bright acidity and a clean mineral finish.
A vivid and complex wine, Gallo Signature Series Cabernet Sauvignon displays flavors of currant, cassis, dark fruit, chocolate and cherry on the palate. Velvety tannins meld with hints of warm oak to create a long, supple finish. Gina blended the Cabernet grapes with a touch of Petit Verdot to enhance the overall structure of the wine and add a deep richness to the mouthfeel.
Gallo Signature Series Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir offers aromas and flavors of black cherry, rose petal, pomegranate and lavender, with a lingering finish highlighted by notes of ripe boysenberry and black spice. Well-integrated notes of oak and vanilla from barrel aging complement a soft, silky mouthfeel and frame this rich expression characteristic of this renowned Central Coast region. (12/2013) A real winner is the 2012 Zinfandel (15.5% alcohol). Aged 16 months in 75% French oak and 25% new American oak, it exhibits a big, sweet kiss of black currants and black cherries intermixed with pepper, spice, lavender, charcuterie and bouquet garni notes. Its gorgeous texture, full-bodied mouthfeel and luscious finish suggest it can be enjoyed over the next 3-4 years.
