Dow's 30 Years Old Tawny is made exclusively from grapes sourced at A classified vineyards (the highest), which include Dow's Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira, two of the very best vineyards in the Douro valley. This enviable position is reflected in the excellent quality and consistency of the style evident in Dow's 30 Years Old Tawny. This 30 Years Old Port is a beautifully mature wine of great distinction. Pale and delicate, it has superb complexity and style. With a concentrated and nutty nose and a full, fresh and lingering finish. It is a very skilful blend, creating an excellent balance between nutty oak and raisin fruit flavours.
Rich ruby color. On the nose packed with rich and concentrated strawberry fruit, and hints of spices. On the palate, full fruit flavors, well balanced, and with a long slightly dry finish that is the hallmark of all Dow's Ports. Dow's Trademark pairs wonderfully with rich, nutty or chocolate desserts, as well as strong cheeses. Port is best served in classic Port wine glassware or white wine glasses. Avoid cordial or liqueur glasses as they are too small to fully appreciate the wine's aromas.
Over the last twenty five years the work done in the Dow’s vineyards and in the Dow’s wineries has resulted in constant improvement to the quality of all the house's premium Ports. Nowhere has this investment been more in evidence than in the quality of Dow’s Late Bottled Vintage Ports (LBV). Dow’s LBV is full-bodied, rich but perfectly balanced with soft peppery tannins and with a fine acidity that ensure perfect balance on the palate. The classic Dow’s dry finish is always present in the house’s LBV; it is one of the finest LBV Ports available. Dow’s LBV has consistently won more awards that most other LBV Ports on the market and this wine has become recognized around the world as an industry standard for excellence, it is served in countless fine restaurants, on several major international airlines and most importantly it is widely appreciated by consumers in many countries around the world.
Dow's Port is drinking beautifully right now – its one of our best vintages in recent history. It balances opulent red fruits with mineral and eucalyptus tones and has the Dow's characteristic drier finish. Its great depth and structure make it delicious now but it will also continue to age in the bottle for years to come. Declared Vintage Port is made only in the best of the best years and represents less than two percent of all Port made. It is sourced from Dow's top vineyards, primarily Quinta do Bomfim and Quinta da Senhora da Ribeira and aged for two years in barrel before bottling.
For many the perfect age for a great Tawny Port. The vibrant purple colour of a great young Port has softened to a delicate green-gold after 20 long years in seasoned oak casks under the watchful eye of the master blender and the Dow’s head lodge man. On the palate, Dow’s Twenty Years Old Tawny is perfectly balanced, with notes of dried nuts and spice. One of the greatest wines a Port blender can make.
