On a yellow tinged straw golden color, the Burgundy White Nights of Hautes-Cotes 2013 of David Duband opens with a delicate nose. There are refined aromas of white fruits and dried fruits, with a touch of butter and honey. In attack, the freshness of this Chardonnay is supported by matter and the final is generous.
Vine age: 45 years Exposure: East Soil: Rocky limestone Viticulture: Organic & Biodynamic Vinification: The grapes are hand-harvested, sorted, and vinified with around 50-60% whole bunches. The must spends 17 days in tank with between 5-7 punch-downs by foot as well as some pump-overs. After pressing, the juice settles for two weeks and is put into barrels, around 30% of which are new. After 14 months of élévage, the wines are racked into tank where they rest for 3 months and are bottled unfined and unfiltered. David's Côte de Nuits Village comes mostly from the village of Brochon, just next to Gevrey-Chambertin.
The dress is of a red ruby bursting with beautiful dark reflections. The nose gets involved aromas of black and red fruits with a lot of neatness. The mouth is frank with a touch of licorice and one finale slightly spiced.
