The Saint-Esprit’s deep color has a dark, plum-like hue. The nose is classic syrah, with berry fruit, violet and licorice. It has a full, rounded palate with delicate tannins, making it a unique wine in the Côtes-du-Rhône appellation.
This wine is a blend from 3 different Hermitage terroirs: L'Ermite, le Sabot, and the famed plot, les Bessards. Made from 100% Syrah, grapes for Domaine des Tourettes are picked by hand and aged in French oak barrels. The color shows brilliant, deep red hues. The nose is powerful and complex, expressing blackberries, spices and leather. On the palate, Domaine des Tourettes is firm but silky, with a tightly-knit tannic structure that is the hallmark of wines that have a great future.
The wine has a deep garnet red color. It is fruity on the nose with strong aromas of cassis, plums and a touch of violets. The tannic structure is ample and well rounded, which assures good aging potential. It is recommended with game, grilled and rich foods
Wine Spectator-France - Tightly focused, with an iron spine running throughout, giving the core of raspberry, red currant and bitter plum fruit a vibrating energy. White pepper, rosemary and olive notes fill in on the finish. Shows lovely range and drive.
