Bright straw-yellow. Citrus fruits and mineral notes. Fresh, long, and intense.
With origins in Bordeaux, France, this variety is a call to freshness. In Casillero del Diablo this characteristic is complemented by a mineral note for refreshing style with peach and redcurrant aromas. A lush and well-rounded wine with perfect balance and elegance that is ideal with salmon ceviche.
Powerful citrus and melon aromas dominate the nose, but it also reveals some floral and peach too. The palate brings a luxuriously-creamy mouthfeel and rich lemon, melon, apple, peach and mineral flavors. The mineral really comes out on the finish. Although the wine was aged for 9 months in French oak, it’s not over-oaked.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the most widely grown grape in the New World. Cabs from Chile have an elegance and earn great respect due to the complexity and diversity of characteristics, stemming from nuances of what the Chilean landscape gives to the grape. Thick skins lead to classicly high tannins, and strong red and black fruit-forward characteristics on both the nose and palate.
