A classic blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon. The 2012 La Rose Saint-Germain Bordeaux Blanc is vinified in stainless steel, it’s crisp and bright with overtones of citrus, white flowers and maybe just a touch of boxwood. Perfect for lighter, springtime fare. - Christine Havens, GVWM Staff
The 2009 Chateau Saint-Germain Bordeaux is an exceptionally tannic, broodingly backward offering displaying a dense ruby/purple color along with a provocative perfume of crushed rocks, flowers, cassis, black raspberries, and blueberries. It continues to add weight and richness, good traits considering the substantial, forbiddingly high tannin levels and zesty acidity.
Somewhat weedy and stemmy with wild cassis and tart blackberry notes. Almost full-bodied. Decant 1 hour to smooth out the tannic grip.
