Domaine Bellevue is a family-owned estate growing vines and making wines for four generations. citrus fruits (orange, tangerine), exotic fruits (passion fruit, ripe pineapple). Few floral notes (lily of the valley) and pinesap. Wonderfully rich, with good length and freshness.
Entre-deux-Mers meaning between two seas is the area between the Garonne and the Dordogne is producing some very nice white wines, this example from Chateau Bellevue is a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon with no oak aging. Apparent on the nose is the crisp zestiness from the sauvignon blanc on the palate there is white fruit and citrus hints, here the Semillon becomes more apparent adding a depth and roundness to the wine and providing the length of finish which is clean and fresh. Great value and well deserves its recommendation in the Guide Hachette.
Black cherry colour with good depth. Clean and complex on the nose, with ripe fruits, blackcurrant, blackberry, red fruits, spice and liquorice. Very supple and fleshy on the palate, with medium length. A mature and well-balanced wine.
