The non-vintage Terrantez Old Reserve is a selection of the finest Terrantez grapes (not there is much left on the island) and aged for ten years in oak casks. This was bottled in February 2011. It has a slightly disjointed nose at first, taking time to settle down over several hours and eventually offering a dainty bouquet of hazelnut, antique bureau, orange rind, pressed flowers and a touch of leather. The palate is taut and vibrant on the entry with orange zest, fiery red peppers and a touch of marmalade. Compared to other Broadbent bottlings, it shows more sense of purpose, more 'thrust'. It has a palpable sense of symmetry towards the finish that just eases off the accelerator. But this is very true to this wonderful grape variety, especially upon its extraordinarily long, lightly spiced aftertaste
Aged in oak casks for at least 10 years. A superb, full-bodied, wonderfully rich Madeira with a sweet, rich chocolaty flavor and a concentrated bouquet. Best enjoyed with desserts, or on its own after a meal.
A favorite Madeira of mine, that reveals a stunning background of nuances ranging from warm pecan pie, to baked sultana and iotas of Turkish delight. The aroma is equally stunning, giving emphasis to notes of marzipan and wild amber honey. Allotments of poached pear were equally riveting, but I could easily end each meal with this aperitif, as it is rich, but sustainably well-balanced enough for any occasion
Aged in oak casks for at least 5 years. This is clearly a different style of Madeira: sweet, yes, but with nearly a vintage Madeira level of acid and complexity. With its dark gold color and sweet, nutty aromas, this is on the rich side of the Madeira taste spectrum. It has attractive fruitiness and aged citrus acidity that go together, leaving a wine that is both sweet but also fresh.
Aged in oak casks for at least 3 years. Esteemed for its concentrated aroma and subtle flavor, it can be served as an apéritif or as an after dinner drink. Madeira, warm and luscious in both its dry and sweet variations, makes an excellent wine for winter and the holiday season. Clear dark reddish-copper in color, it breathes classic and very appealing Madeira scents of dried dates and figs and mixed nuts. Smooth and gently sweet, it's not a sticky dessert wine but shows good fresh-fruit sweetness built on Madeira's sturdy core of tart, lemony acidity.

The grapes are hand harvested and are fermented in stainless steel tanks. After spending six months in French (70%) and American oak (30%), the wine is bottled and cellar aged for three months prior to release.
