This Rosado from Bodegas Taron is a traditional `clarete` or rose, a 50/50 blend of white and red grapes. In this case it is a blend of Viura and Garnacha. The winery and vineyards are situated in the northern point of Rioja Alta. This rose is a delicate pale pink color with notes of strawberries, peaches and cherry blossom on the nose. The palate is crisp with summer fruit flavours and a fresh acidity.

The bouquet has notes of citrus, green apple and white blossom. These fresh fruit notes continue on the palate with some white peach and the zesty acidity that the region of Rioja Alta is famous for.
(90% tempranillo and 10% mazuelo): Bright ruby. Smoky, spicy dark fruits on the nose and palate. Supple and open-knit, with good punch and creamy texture. Closes with appealing sweetness, gentle tannins and an echo of vanillin oak. Old school in its oaky way, and a good call for grilled or braised red meats.
