100% Pinot Noir grown from our two high elevation vineyard sites in the Dundee and Eola-Amity Hills brings vibrant, fresh red fruits, spring flowers, and subtle spice. Picked over a month's period of time, this wine is layered with flavor and textural nuance provided by the long, cool harvest of 2019 in the Willamette Valley.
Knudsen Vineyard Blanc de Blancs has been sourced from the original, own-rooted Dijon Clone Chardonnay vines planted in Julia Lee's Block since the wine's first bottling in 1995. Planted in 1990 at 850 feet of elevation, this wine displays orchard blossom, silken pastry cream, and crushed hazelnut, refined by layers of delicate precision and volcanic tension. Fermented and aged in our oldest, neutral oak barrels expands its middle palate depth and builds upon its taut, savory length.
The 2015 sparkling wine vintage in the Willamette Valley was impeccable, showcasing the enticing depth and focused precision the region has to offer. The Pinot Noir dominated blend provides impressive red-fruited dimension to the white peach, wild honey and toasted brioche. The middle palate is invigorated with dynamic acid backbone and edgy minerality, bringing balance and concentration to the long finish.
The nose is full of fleshy white peach, lilac, meyer lemon, and faint white pepper. The palate is sleek and graceful, a light plumpness lurking in the shadows, waiting to build increased depth with time. The ever complicated acid/mineral interplay keeps the finish sailing on and on. Just a young pup, all the hallmarks of true ageable Riesling are here. Break out the Bibimbap!
Blended between our three vineyards, Argyle Chardonnay displays the concentration and tension of the Eola-Amity Hills, with the graceful delicacy of the Dundee Hills. Fermented and aged on the lees in mostly neutral French oak barrels, the 2016 vintage is sleek flint and crunchy citrus, balanced with an underlying creaminess. The natural acidity is lively and fresh, finishing long, clean, and pure.
Both based in volcanic red soils, the Dundee Hills and Eola-Amity Hills are home to our Reserve Pinot Noir, providing spicy elegance and silky texture. Dark cherry, pomegranate, violet, and an underlying minerality weave with delicate, polished tannin and dynamic energy. Cold soaking and fermenting entirely in small, 1.5-ton fermenters enhances silkiness, while 15% whole cluster inclusion contributes freshness, layered complexity, and vibrant length.
Raspberry, pomegranate, and orange peel open into delicate floral complexity. Silky tannins are balanced with crisp, high elevation acidity.
